Storage banquett bench (and shelves)

Job description
Hi there. I'd like a storage bench to fit in the length of our living room, from wall to wall. Measurements are: 350cms(w); 45cms(h); 75cms(d).
We're thinking of either having cupboard doors and thus the bench would be a series of two-shelf cupboards; or just having hinged doors, rather like an Ottoman. I'm guessing the latter would be cheaper as easier to construct.
There is a skirting board and the back of the bench would need to be cut to fit up against the wall.
Above the bench we'd like three average depth shelves which stretch the length of the room but are positioned high enough so when you sit down on the bench, you won't bang your head.
The colour would be white; we could paint ourselves if this was a significant difference in price.
